Speakers

Rejig can identify and label lines of speech in the transcript, and guess the name of the person speaking. This helps to improve the readability of the transcript, and can be used as a basis for editing your content.

When you upload your content, Rejig automatically attempts to

  1. Distinguish between different voices in the audio.

  2. Assign unique identifiers to segments where each voice is speaking.

  3. Infer speaker names based on mentions within the transcript text (e.g., "Hello, I'm John").

Speaker names are typically only shown in the transcript at the point where the speaker changes. Hovering your cursor over any line of speech will reveal the name of the speaker assigned to that specific line.

Editing Speaker Names

Click on the speaker’s name displayed in the transcript to display the drop-down menu.

To use an existing speaker name, click on their name in the list. Alternatively, start typing their name to filter the list to matching names and press Return/Enter to select the name at the top of the list.

To add a new speaker name, type their name, then press Return/Enter or click the "Create [Name]" button that appears in the list.

Similar Voices

By default, when you correct a speaker's name for one line, Rejig intelligently attempts to apply that same correction to other lines it believes are spoken by the same person (based on similar vocal signatures). This is the "Rename similar voices" option is controlled by the checkbox in the drop-down menu. To change the speaker name for only the currently selected line, untick the checkbox before applying the name change.
