Key Concepts
Understanding these core concepts will help you get the most out of Rejig:
Project
Project are the containers for your work in Rejig. They are created when you upload a video or audio file and holds the media file itself, its transcript, and all associated versions and metadata.
Workspaces
Projects are organised into workspaces. Workspaces can be private for individual use or shared among team members for collaboration. You can switch between workspaces using the drop-down menu in the top-left corner of the screen.
Dashboard
The dashboard is the first screen you see after logging in. It provides an overview of the projects within the currently selected workspace, allowing you to quickly access your work.
Project Screen
This is the page for an individual project, from which you can access, edit, and generate transcripts, versions, and assets. You can open the project screen by clicking a project in the sidebar of the dashboard.
Edit Screen
This screen is used to edit the transcript (including chapters, speakers, and tags), and to generate/export new versions of your media.
Transcript
A time-coded textual representation of your audio/video content. Each line in the transcript corresponds to a segment of audio and can represent speech, music, sound effects, or silence.
Chapters
Chapters segment your transcript into a structured outline with descriptive titles. They help with navigation, can be used as a basis for editing instructions, and can be published to help your audience navigate the final content. Chapters are contiguous, meaning there are no gaps between them.
Speakers
These are the identified individuals speaking in your media, as marked within the transcript. Rejig attempts to automatically identify speakers and show where they are speaking in the transcript.
Tag
A custom label that you can attach to one or more lines in the transcript. Tags are powerful for searching and exploring your content, and critically, they can be used as criteria for creating new edited versions of your content.
Version
A version represents an edited iteration of your original video or audio content. Versions are generated using a "recipe" of high-level instructions. Proposed edits for a new version are visually indicated as crossed-out lines within the transcript, allowing for review and adjustment
Asset
Assets are additional content that has been generated by Rejig, such as exported media files, timeline, transcripts, or summaries.
